š·ļø Label Maker
Open Label Maker from a device page (IO ā Print labels), the Devices page (Print labels), the Turnouts page, or at /labels. It prints onto plain paper or full-sheet sticker paper with your browser's print dialog, at exact physical sizes ā a 50 mm bar on page 1 lets you check with a ruler.
Presets
| Preset | Size | For |
|---|---|---|
| Generic | 16 mm high, width fits the text | anything: DEJA mark, name, detail line, colour, icon, QR |
| Standard | 7 mm high, 12 pt | equipment labels; | makes two fields with a divider |
| Wire flag | 27 Ć 6 mm panels around a ½ in wrap gap, on one line | one flag per wire: cut the strip at 66.7 Ć 6 mm (2 Ć 27 mm panels + 12.7 mm gap), wrap the gap around the wire and press the two ends together back-to-back ā the flag sticks out and reads from either side; long names shrink to fit the panel |
| Wire wrap | 12 Ć 38 mm | wraps around the wire, text runs along it |
| Terminal marker | 5.15 mm squares at 5.2 mm pitch | ST 2.5 push-in terminal blocks; strips of 24, printed in triplicate |
| Device plate | 80 Ć 30 mm | one plate per device: its name, board, type, connection, id and firmware, with a QR to its page; turn on Pin map for a lid card listing every wired pin |
| Turnout Ā· HO / N | 13 mm / 7 mm high | colour-filled tags that sit between the rails, each showing the turnout's #number (even after you change other settings) |
Every number is a setting: width, height (mm or in), wrap gap, pitch, gaps, copies. Editing one marks the preset Custom.
Where the labels come from
The page has two tabs on the left ā Setup and Labels ā and the sheet exactly as it prints on the right; Print and the label count sit in the header, with Reset under ā®.
In Setup ā Source, pick one device, all devices, or every turnout, effect, sensor or signal in the layout. Each item brings its name, pins, colour and icon. For One device or All devices, the chips under the picker choose which kinds get labels ā Device, Turnouts, Effects, Sensors, Signals, I²C bus, and Pins when One label per pin is on ā each with its count; untick one to leave it off the sheet. Turn on One label per pin for a label per board pin instead (22 Ā· Yard Ent Ā· ā).
Setup ā Look sets the style, colour treatment, the extras (icon, DEJA logo, QR, border), the text size and the Padding between the border and the text. Both start on Auto (padding is a tenth of the label height, 0.6ā2.6 mm); type a number to override ā on a 5 mm terminal square, a 0.2 mm padding roughly doubles the text.
The Labels tab lists every label: tick or untick it (or All / None), tap its colour dot to recolour it, and tap the row to edit its text, second field, icon, group, copies, and its own Width and Height (leave them empty for the sheet's size). Add your own with Add label, or open Type or paste many and enter one per line: text | second field | https://link, with # Group starting a group (a new strip, with a heading). End a line with @red or @#ff8800 to colour that label, and with @10x5 (width Ć height in the sheet's unit; @10x or @x5 for one side only) to give it its own size: 12V+ | + @red @6x6.
Click any label on the preview to edit it in place; Enter saves, Escape cancels. Edits to generated labels are remembered for that layout, even when items are added or rewired.
QR codes
Device and item labels can carry a QR that opens that device or item in Throttle ā on any phone signed in to the layout, even with another layout selected. Every printed QR, including the join poster, guest poster and guest signs, carries the DEJA logo in its centre. Small codes are hard for phones to read. When a code's dots would be under 0.3 mm the panel warns you; the label still prints, so scan one before printing a whole sheet, or make the label taller.
Printing
Print at 100 % / Actual size, never "fit to page". Letter and A4 both work. Before you cut, measure the 50 mm bar on page 1 with a ruler; if it doesn't measure 50 mm, the print dialog has scaled the sheet. The second page is the how-to for the current style; skip it in the print dialog if you don't need it. Your settings and typed labels stay in this browser.
